Fiona Meade is an aspiring actress. She also happens to be the only daughter in her family. Fiona and her four brothers have been raised "over the phone" by Chief Engineer Declan Aidan Meade, a sailor whose colors and careful seamanship run as deep as the ocean. She attempts to land the part of a lifetime in Hollywood. Searching for anecdotes and interesting trivia to secure her prospects, Fiona slowly becomes aware of how her father's life on the ocean has been a sweet yet desperate solution, tinged with sadness as well as a hidden desire to fall in love completely. Together, this father/daughter team pitch Hollywood's biggest movie producer on using Fiona's sarcasm and the sailor's story to make a movie. When things don't go as planned, the two must somehow survive sailing alongside one another on a rusty World War 2 vessel from Seattle to India.
